Surface Design Series: Monoprinting on Clay | Saturday, Mar 21 | 11am-1pm
Date: Saturday, March 21
Time: 11:00am-1:00pm
Experience Level: Workshop is great for any level ceramicist, whether this will be your first time exploring clay or already a passion of yours!
Includes: All materials and firing
Our hands on workshop is a great exploration and process art play space. We’ll explore laying colors, creating designs, how to apply slip in layers, and the freeform nature of monoprints on clay. This imperfect, painterly, printmaking approach can be so freeing! No art skills required, just creative curiosity.
We’ll explore how to create designs and students can make their own or work from available templates. Once our monoprint is created, we’ll show how to transfer the image onto your clay. For this workshop, we’ll transfer onto a slab built plate.
This workshop will use a newsprint transfer mono-print technique which allows for application on curved or flat surfaces!
Whether you’re looking for new ways to decorate your ceramics or just want to try something new, this workshop is for you!
