At Marin Pottery in Novato, CA, we offer engaging pottery and ceramics workshops throughout the year for beginners and intermediate students. We offer skill building, beginner friendly, and specialized workshops throughout the year!
Our pottery classes are taught by potters who are passionate about clay! We create an inviting and inclusive environment, comfortable for folks to explore - even if you’ve never worked with clay before.

Pumpkins and Ghosts!

Join us for an adults-only ceramics workshop where you’ll sculpt your own ceramic ghost and festive pumpkin, your new favorite candle votive for the spooky season!
No prior clay experience is needed—enjoy a relaxed, creative evening making something festive by hand. Bring a friend or two (or meet one here!), bring your favorite beverage, and enjoy a creative evening.
A little spooky, a little silly, and a whole lot of creative fun!
Your finished ceramic pieces will be glazed and kiln-fired, ready for pickup just in time for halloween.

Family Gingerbread House Workshop!
$80 Per House, up to 2 participants per house

This is one of our favorite family workshops, and there’s something extra special about creating together. Gather around the table, let your imaginations run wild, and enjoy a cozy afternoon of clay, hot cocoa, cookies, and memory-making.
The best part? These little houses become treasured keepsakes you can bring out year after year. (I still have mine from our very first gingerbread house workshop in 2008!)
All clay will be ready for creating and our instructors will guide you through the process! No experience necessary.
After your item is bisque fired, you're welcome to come in and glaze during our drop in time or take home a glaze kit before returning your house for the final firing.
Cost includes up to 2 participants per house. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult. If wanting to create your own house, please purchase two.
Solstice Altars
$60 Per Person

The winter solstice is around the corner! Join in creating solstice altars to celebrate the return of the light. We'll begin with a meditation, led by astrologer Anders Renee, to set intentions for the solstice and embed into our altars.
This workshop is great for all levels, even if you’ve never worked with clay before.
Following sculpting, students will choose a glaze color for their piece and our wonderful staff will glaze so pieces are ready for pick up.
