Monthly Pottery Membership

$170.00 every month

Pottery Memberships

Welcome! You have been accepted as a member of Marin Pottery. Your monthly fees are due on the date you receive your acceptance email. If we do not receive payment on the same day you are forgoing your spot. Once payment is received we will send you a Membership handbook to sign, once signed you are ready to pot!

Your monthly fees are automatically withdrawn each month on the same day you registered. A 3 month minimum is required to make sure you have time to glaze and retriever your pottery.

If you would like to withdraw from our membership program we require 2 weeks notice otherwise your membership will be standing and you will be billed for the month. It is up to you to cancel your subscription payments also. If you do not cancel and are charged Marin Pottery can not reimburse for that month.

What art the protocols due to COVID?

We follow the CDC recommendations. At this time we are not requiring masks.

Terms of Service

Marin Pottery (A sister studio of Studio 4 Art LLC) is in no way responsible for the safekeeping of personal belongings stored at Marin Pottery.

Marin Pottery is not responsible for damaged clay pieces

Marin Pottery participants acknowledge and accept full responsibility for any risk of bodily injury or harm, or property loss.

Marin Pottery members agree to familiarize with the terms and conditions, purchase policy, and cancellation policy

Cancellation of memberships are due two weeks prior to the preceding month. If members do not cancel two weeks prior there is NO REFUND.

Cost: $130 Month

The who: ages 18+ (or families who create together, ages 14+ but must be accompanied by a paying adult with each visit)

The what: Ceramic + Pottery studio for Members

The where: 1133 Grant Avenue Novato CA. Marin Pottery is easy to access from highway 101 and has very easy parking. Marin Pottery is a well-lit studio offering a unique boutique-type setting. Within walking distance are many coffee shops and an abundant choice of lunch and dinner venues (not to mention some great wine bars).

The when: unlimited hours 8:00 am-10 pm Monday through Sunday with the exception of scheduled events. If a class or workshop is happening we are leaving space open so you may come in and work on your pottery. The exception to this would be Wednesdays from 3:00-8:00 when we are holding our outreach program for kids. Weekend hours are 9a-10p with the exception of special events scheduled. This is a community space and we host parties and workshops occasionally but will always let you know 2 weeks before event. These dates and times may change without notice.

The why: You love clay and are looking to have a space to continue your craft, get back into your craft, or have taken a class and want to continue what you have learned in a supportive, beautiful, clay community. Our cozy boutique pottery studio is the perfect space to feel safe, create freely, fuel your creativity, and to be inspired by others.

The how: Please reach out at info.marinpottery@gmail.com along with some photos of your work and your history in pottery. Our members are accepted based on the level of understanding you have of what it takes to be a member of a community studio in regards to cleanliness, communication, organization, equipment operations, your ability to use the studio safely without supervision, personal etiquette, and knowledge of closing the studio. There is a one month probation period unless you have been enrolled in one of our 6-8 week pottery classes.

Members will have access to:

•slab roller

•potter’s wheel

•handbuilding tables

•underglazes (Amaco and Stroke and Coat wonder glaze)

•12 glazing dipping colors

•kiln firing-bisque weekly

• cone 5-6 firing once monthly (you may rent a kiln if the studio schedule allows it)

•a shelf for keeping pottery in progress (it is advised to take personal tools with you)

•various hump and slump molds

•brushes

•molds

••fun tools to experiment with (textured rolling pins, large wooden Tibetan stamps, cookie cutters)

all clay must be purchased from Marin Pottery. You may not mix your own glaze in our studio and if bringing in glaze from outside please label and store in your area

Other bits of info:

•glaze pieces will be fired to cone 5-6 electric

•Open studio participants must be 18+ or 14+ and accompanied by a paying adult member

•All work must be collected or glazed within two weeks of creation

•10% off of all workshops

•20% off of classes
