MARIN POTTERY PRIVATE LESSONS
Following county requirements for our safety and the safety of others, we are offering private lessons of 1-4 persons at this time. Our wheel-throwing and hand-building “cubbies” are perfect for creating together and staying safe.

• $75/hour per potter

• ages 8+, great for families to create together, or a small private party

• includes 5lbs of clay, use of studio tools, kiln firing, and personal instruction.

• We can glaze for a small additional fee, or you may schedule a separate time to learn about glaze applications and glaze your own work for an additional $40 fee.

COVID safe: masks must be worn, potters will have their own workstation with their own sterilized pottery tools.

Please fill out the registration form and we will reach out with available dates and times. Private lessons are not available during the day while camps are in session.

WHEEL THROWING BEGINNER MINI CLASS

$110

If a class is full or changes need to be made we will notify you via email to reschedule. A minimum of 4 is needed, a maximum of 8 is available.

Hello potters! In this mini pottery class, you will learn the basics of wheel throwing, how to use tools, and how to clean your area when finished. If you are interested in hand-building and learning different techniques and how to use our slab roller that is also an option. Your mini-class includes 10 lbs of clay, with additional clay for purchase.

Mini Pottery Class

• 2 hours in length

• 10 lbs of clay

• 2 hours of drop-in time to practice your skills. During drop-in times there is not an instructor present. You will need to bring your own tools and a towel.

• Class is modified and follows social distancing protocols with each potter having their own private cubicle to create in.

• Each potter will have their own set of tools to borrow during class. When coming into the studio to practice on your own you will need a personal pottery toolset, we sell beginner sets at the studio.

• Masks must be worn during class. Please bring your own personal towel for handwashing and drying.

NOTE: By registering for your class online, we ask you to read and understand our cancelation policy, covid restrictions, and safety standards. When you come in to practice on your own you will need to sign a release form beforehand. Drop-in times are M-F 9a-9p (except when ceramics camps are in session) and Sunday 9a-7p.

Marin Pottery is ready to welcome young potters to learn through playful, fun, and creative ways all about clay, ceramics, and pottery. We have been teaching clay and wheel throwing for over 21 years and are able to break down how to throw on a potter’s wheel for children of all ages. Join us for some artful fun and learning!

We understand busy schedules so we have designed a one-night, one-time meet-up to learn about the fun of wheel throwing or a step-by-step project-based technique, check our calendar for dates and themes. This is the perfect introduction to play with clay, no commitment, and all fun! Please feel free to bring your drink of choice and sign up with a friend for the best night out!
